The BMW CS Concept was unveiled in the year 2008 for the first time. The vehicle falls under the category of full size luxury car. The vehicle was released as a predecessor to the BMW 8 Series model and built based on the body style of 4- door saloon.

The vehicle was displayed at several auto shows held in the year 2007 and again it was displayed at an International Auto Show held in the city of New York in the month of April, 2008. The vehicle was released as a fastback model with new features like door handles that comes out when ever the sensors detect the motion. The model CS Concept was introduced in the city of Shanghai for the first time.

The model has the dimensions bigger than the model E65 7 Series. According to the CEO of the BMW America, Tom Purves, the model CS Concept was manufactured under the name of Gran Turismo for sometime and later stopped in the month of November, 2008 due to some financial disputes.

The features included in the CS Concept include, big kidney shaped grilles at the front, which integrates with the bumper, turning indicators at the side of the vehicle and the head lights are designed in the shape of eyebrow. The tail pipe at the back side of the vehicle is connected with both the rectangular tail pipes and the bumper. Some of the designs in the vehicle look similar to that of the present 7 series F01 and F02 platforms. The four doors sleek to the vehicle give an appearance similar to that of a coupe model like Mercedes Benz.
