Well, as I said in the previous post that ‘Go small & green’ is the most in thing in the Paris Motor Show, 2008 or rather I should say this is the latest concept of the automakers, this motor show is unveiling a number of cars that advertises this concept. To me it seems to be that these green concept cars are mere promotion gimmicks or just ways to pacify the demand for lower emission vehicles (not to forget, obviously with lower fuel consumption levels.)
Popularizing the word ‘greenery’ that forms a part of almost every news from automotive industry, these cars are replies to issues on increasing global warming. In order to compete in the market and build up their image of being environment- conscious, almost all major automobile players are unveiling ‘their eco- friendly cars’. Read the rest of this entry »
The Peugeot HR1 Concept Story

In October, a list of concepts developed by Russian designers for the world’s largest
companies, added to a crossover Peugeot HR1.
So, the project started in September 2009. The designers were tasked to do offroad for a city with a hybrid, compact, but with four full seats. The exterior needed to express the DNA of the brand and develop a style inherent in the concept SR1. As you may recall, at this roadster was first introduced new proprietary grid, its author – Nicolas Brisson (Nicolas Brissonneau).
In vnutristudiynom competition conceptual designs involving several designers, but was chosen option, Artema as best meets the specified requirements. Looking ahead, we can say that compared with the selected final design sketches Peugeot HR1 almost unchanged.
Typical, very recognizable sidewall used Artem – the result of collective work of designers Peugeot. The motif first appeared in the SR1 and was continued on the HR1 and EX1. And this is one element of corporate identity marks.
One source of inspiration (but not primary) for Artem served as a concept bike Peugeot B1K. Designer inspired finesse the bike and attention to detail displayed by the author. Thus, the
concept appeared on the roof and aluminum elements with integrated rearview camera. Well as techniques used in the design B1K, can be seen on the grid and the front optics of the crossover. Color schemes, as well as the materials chosen Color & Trim Division in coordination with the designers.
In a recent story about the design center of Peugeot you’ve ever seen models made of foam, but for modeling HR1 was chosen clay. It allows one to clearly convey the surface, it can be painted or obtyanut film to see the reflection on the surface.
The author of the interior design concept was Frederick ANTEC (Frederic Antecki). Artem and Frederik worked side by side, interacting in the work on the interior and exterior. They often talked of the project, since both depended on each other. Interior fit under the exterior required a lot of time, effort and teamwork. Read the rest of this entry »
