ACORN Housing/University Partnership Presents Plan to Possible Funders in NYC
On March 12, about ten students and faculty from Cornell University met with ACORN Housing staff, Columbia University faculty, and ACORN staff to present the People's Plan for the 9th Ward to potential funders at Cornell's AAP facility in NYC. The day was off to a great start as Wade Rathke of ACORN, Ken Reardon of Cornell, Richard Hayes, Marty Shaloo and Jim Dart of ACORN Housing, and Rebekah Green of Columbia all presented their findings on the 9th Ward and New Orleans East surveys and interviews. The presentations were followed by a luncheon question-and-answer session where funders and other guests were invited to talk about the People's Plan and its conclusions.
