Aerodynamic Car Design Technology Evolution
Posted by admin in Automotive, Cars Concept on January 6, 2012
The car industry has come a long way, if we come to think of the first steam powered coaches. Nowadays the industry has evolved so much through technology, that half a century ago people didn’t even dare to dream. Only fifty years ago cars were though slow means of transportation: a genius invention, but a slow one. However, in the last fifty years the technology has accelerated so much, that today we already have cars driving with more than 400 km/h.
An important step in the car evolution has been the speed. The aerodynamic design and the more and more advanced technology on the market allowed manufacturers to come up with more and more beautiful cars, reaching higher and higher speeds. Therefore, some years ago, the most important performance of the car industry was the speed, combined together with comfort and exquisite design.
However, as cars began to no longer be a rarity on the market and as nowadays there are around 1800 million cars around the world, the consumer has new needs. Therefore, the automobile manufacturers had to adapt to the new requirements and bring new solutions. In this sense, speed is no longer the only requirement, but in comes together with consumption. As more and more people use cars around the world and as earth resources start to diminish, the car industry was forced to come with energy saving solutions.
This is how concepts like the hybrid car or electrical car appeared on the market. The hybrid car came as a balance between fuel consumption and electricity consumption, so that the customer has the possibility of paying less for fuel and, at the same time, reduce the CO2 emissions. On the other hand, a step further has been the electrical car, which is no longer addicted to the fuel pump and therefore saves a lot of money while respecting nature.
Nowadays cars’ prices range within a very large price scale, adapted to every need and pocket. Because the more ecological ones are also more expensive, the leasing is always a feasible option. No matter what you opt for, cash or leasing, old or new car, you should always keep in mind that technology, and car industry implicitly, are very dynamic fields, always in development.
